Overview

The CAPPS website contains links to human resources information you may require as an employee of HHS. This information is available to you in a convenient knowledgebase of necessary HR forms, policy information, and information related to various life and work events you or your family may experience while you are employed with HHS.

Step Actions

The step actions for completing a transaction are presented in two ways: Text Only and Screen Samples:

  • Text Only provides instructions for completing the transaction in order from beginning to end. It does not include screen samples.
  • Screen Samples include detailed screen shots to help complete the transaction.

Introduction

Text Only Step Actions for Accessing HR Forms

To view and print HR forms, follow these steps.

 

Steps

 

  1. Select HR Forms from the CAPPS home page. The Forms Library page displays.
  2.  

  3. Select the specific form topic from the Forms Library section. The form topics are:

    • Benefits
    • Classification & Job Audits
    • Employee Relations
    • Employment & Staffing
    • New Hire & Separation
    • Payroll
    • Performance Management
    • Time & Leave
    • Workers’ Compensation
    •  

  5. Select the appropriate link to display the specific form related to your topic of interest.

Accessing HR Forms

From the CAPPS Home page, you can access HR forms through several different links:

 

  • Menu classic
  • Main Menu
  • Service Centered featured Links
  •  

To view and print HR forms, select one of the following methods to be directed to the CAPPS Knowledgebase.

  1. Select HR Forms from the CAPPS home page.

Text Only Step Actions for HR Policies

To view and print HR policies, follow these steps.

 

Steps

 

  1. Select HR Policies from the CAPPS home page.
  2.  

  3. Select from the various policy category links:
  4.  

    • Policies – Includes policies related to pay, types of leave, employee relations, and employee services
    • Employment and Staffing – Includes policies related to employment records, employment testing, employment verification, I-9 Form, applying for a job, orientation, separations, and other topics.
    • Compensation and Classification – Includes policies related to state and HHS compensation and classification system, other pay and allowances, job audits, salary increases, and shift pay.
    •  

    You will then see policy topics within each policy category.

     

  1. Select the appropriate link for the policy you wish to view.

HR Policies

From the CAPPSHome page, you can access HR policies through several different links:

Events

To view the Life and Work Events, follow these steps to be directed to the specific Work Event or CAPPS Knowledgebase.

 

Steps

 

  1. Select your desired Work Events link from the CAPPS home page under the Service Center Featured Links section if your event is listed.

     

    OR


    Click HR Forms or HR Policies to access the Knowledgebase.

    Helpful Hint: Some links from the CAPPS home page link directly to your topic so Step 2 may not be required.

     

  1. Select Life and Work Events from the Knowledgebase home page left navigation menu. A listing of the various life and work events for which information is available is displayed.
  2.  

  3. Select the appropriate event to pull up the available information for each life or work event.

Events

Key Things to Remember

Service Center Information:

  • The Service Center operates between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday. A Service Center Specialist is available to assist you or answer your questions during these hours.
  • You may contact the Service Center at 1-888-TX-HHS-HR (1-888-894-4747), or TDD/TTY for the Hearing Impaired 1-866-839-2747.
  • You may email your questions directly to the Service Center by selecting Ask Service Center on the CAPPS home page (must be logged in) using the online form to enter and submit your questions.
